Ice Ice Baby

Did you know that in the early 19th century, way before the invention of ice trays, wealthy people would purchase ice for a fairly high price? True story, ice was a luxury item!

These days we don’t really think about it that way, it’s almost unnoticeable, right?

But if you want to bring the luxury back and give your icy drinks a make over, here’s how:

Select the fruits and essential oils that appeals to you the most. Think of which beverage you will be using these ice cubes in, and it will help direct the flavors you choose.

Fruits like:

Frozen Raspberries – Lemon – Lime – Orange – Grapefruit – Basil leaves – Mint leaves – Strawberry – Watermelon

Essential oils like:

Lemon oil – Wild Orange oil – Lime oil – Grapefruit oil – Peppermint oil – Lavender oil – Basil oil

1- Cut your chosen fruit into small pieces, and place pieces into a metal or silicon ice cube tray (stay away from the dodgy plastic ones)

2- Add 1-2 drops of essential oils per ice cube slot

3- Add filtered water and place into freezer

4- Once frozen, add to beverage for a fun flavor combo

Combos to try:

. Raspberry and Lemon

. Orange, Lemon and lime

. Lavender and Lemon

. Lime and Mint

. Grapefruit and Basil

. Strawberry and lemon

. Watermelon and Lime

. Lemon and Lime

Give it a try, then leave a comment below and let me know what combos you played with and how you enjoy them.
