One of the many amazing women I had the privilege to share time and this project with is Pauline Busson.
Pauline is a French humanitarian worker and a yoga teacher with the deepest urge to help people help themselves. You can follow her somewhere around the world wearing her humanitarian hat and working on the field or indulge in her knowledge whenever she visits the Sivananda Ashram in Woodbourne,NY.
NS: What does “Equality” mean to you?
PB: Thinking about equality straight, coming from a human right background, I think about equal law, equal opportunities, treatments, chances and… I am interested in social justice so I want equality for people, this is very important for me.
However I think a bit differently now ( being emerged deeper, in the yoga studies and practices), I don’t want to separate people, because by separating, you are setting them up against each other, like men vs women or…Now I see everybody with the sense of oneness, that we are all one, we have common things, common nature, a positive nature.
NS: If you were to tell us something about your self what would that be?
PB: I still don’t know exactly why I want to make a change, like who or what did inspire me to do so but most of the values that I carry today, I’m taking from my father, who’s not here anymore. So I think that today I want to have the courage to live the same way he did, to follow his example, in this way he is still living with me.
Thank you Pauline for your honesty, your presence and for all that you do.
