Top 5 Food To Calm Your Mood

I know what you’re thinking; FOOD can’t solve all the problems! 
Although I think it does 🙂 
Ok maybe it doesn’t but there’s no doubt that it has an impact on how you feel which in turn will impact everything else, right?
So why not try to include more feel good food into your daily meals to support a good mood? Who doesn’t want to feel happier?

These 5 foods are some of the staples in my kitchen and they also happen to be really good for your mood:

1-Sweet potato:
Contains complex carbs which increases availability of the feel-good neurotransmitter serotonin to the brain and regulates mood. Bake them, steam them, mix them with your salad, mash them and… Plus great for curbing your cravings for sweets.

2-Pumpkin seeds:
Packed with Zinc, a key nutrient for managing stress + balancing mood.
I love tossing some over my salad, so delicious

3-Apples:
High in a fiber that feeds good gut bacteria which can directly impact your overall mood.
I eat an apple everyday, often mid morning, a great snack and a great support for your gut.

4-Lentils:
Very rich in Selenium, a trace mineral linked to decreasing anxiety levels.
Have them over salad, make soup and use them while making patties.

5-Turmeric:
The main active ingredient Curcumin is shown to reduce anxiety by stimulating the release of Serotonin and Dopamine in the brain.
Turmeric is in pretty much every food I make,I’m Iranian, what can I say 🙂
